It’s the End of the World! -NOT

Yes we are still alive! Did anyone really question it? You know there was a little part of you that thought something may happen. Well since our lives were spared, let’s make the best of the year to come.
I have gone through many changes this past year and have been through some tough times for sure but overall life is good. I’m healthy, happy and looking forward to the future. Sometimes we stress over the smallest things in life but you’re only making it worse for yourself. Life isn’t perfect. You’re going to have bad times. If we didn’t; we couldn’t truly appreciate the good times. It’s how you deal with it that makes a difference for your own well-being. I’m sort of writing this as a reminder to you all and myself that life is short and we really should make the best of it. I know this all may sound cliché’ but it’s true.
With so much tragedy in the world, we should be thankful that we are here. Our problems are so minor compared to others who don’t have it so great. We have to stop and think about that sometimes. I turned 37 this year and I was pretty bummed out at first but I soon realized that I’m here, I’m healthy and I should be grateful for that. I am more secure and confident than I have ever been. Most people think I’m younger which is awesome for me of course. Most of it is hereditary I’m sure, but I also take care of myself. I eat pretty heathy for the most part being a vegetarian, take care of my skin and stay out of the sun as much as possible. Especially my face. Do not tan your face! Tanned wrinkly skin is not attractive people. Remember the tanning mom form earlier this year? Well, enough said.
Speaking of taking care of yourself, just remember; you are what you eat. As most of you know I am a vegetarian and I have been for almost 4 years now. It’s one of the best choices I have made in my life. I don’t push it on people but I also don’t understand why people give me such a difficult time about eating healthy and caring about myself and animals. It’s very odd. Eating healthy is a lifestyle we should all be living.
I know it may be very tempting to stuff your faces over the holiday season with all the pot luck’s, parties, cookies, etc., but being healthy should be a year-long event. A lifestyle. We all indulge once in a while but just remember, it’s not easy to get that weight off. It’s seems like beginning in October people start eating like crazy and then say they are going to work it off in January; but they don’t. Your should care about your health and body year round. Have self-control. We all know we have a huge problem is this country with weight and it’s not okay. It’s not something anyone should be proud of. People always tell me I’m too thin and I need to eat. Well I’m not too thin and I do eat. I’m just where I should be with my height and frame. I just don’t overload on processed foods and meat. Obviously every one is different and has different body shapes, metabolism, health problems, injuries, etc but that just means you may have to work a little harder than others. It shouldn’t be an excuse. We have a mentality in the U.S. that you should be proud if you are overweight and you shouldn’t be judged. It’s not okay. People need to start taking responsibility for themselves. I don’t mean any of this in a mean way as I’m just trying to get a point across.
I know it’s not easy when it seems like there’s food and treats at the office almost every day but just eat in moderation. Maybe one cookie not 10. Take the stairs not the elevator. Take a walk on your break. Park far away from the mall and walk. You’re going to walk around the mall anyway right? Why do people always need to be right up front. Use your legs!
So let’s have an amazing 2013! It’s never too late to make positive changes in your life. Take care of yourself. Live life. Be positive. Be happy. Care about others. Tell your family and friends you love them because you never know what may happen. They could be here today and gone tomorrow.
